Living Our Purpose to Feed the Human Spirit™ means making sure our customers have an excellent experience each time they walk through our doors. Angie McDaniel is the assistant customer service manager at store #518 in Hermitage, Tenn., and does just that. But in addition to her normal responsibilities, she has a special opportunity each week to uplift a customer through her friendly and caring service.

Every Wednesday, a customer named Dan Dillon visits the store. Dan is blind, and Angie has become his shopping partner. Together, they walk side-by-side, up and down each aisle throughout the store, ensuring Dan gets all the items on his shopping list – worry-free.

“I look forward to coming to Kroger,” says Dan. “I’ll always come back here because of the employees. Because of the service. There’s no reason for me to go anywhere else.”
