Meet Zero Hero: Jeanie Tolbert
Vinton
2 MIN READ
When she’s not hard at work serving deli customers at Kroger’s store 322 in Vinton, Virginia, Jeanie Tolbert volunteers at Samaritan Inn, a homeless food shelter that provides continental breakfast and a full meal lunch to the homeless around the area.
This tireless volunteerism to help end hunger in our communities over the past eight years is exactly what makes Jeanie one of Kroger’s Zero Heroes.
Having experienced some hardships in her life, Jeanie understands the need.
“If I’ve fed someone in need one meal, then I’ve done something good today,” says Jeanie.
Associates like Jeanie are why we feel confident we can achieve our goals of ending hunger and eliminating waste across our business by 2025 through Zero Hunger | Zero Waste. Check out her heartwarming story, below.
