How can we achieve our Zero Hunger | Zero Waste goals of ending hunger in our communities and eliminating waste across our company? With passionate associates like Dillon’s own Kenya Walker from Baker’s District 4 office in Omaha, NE.

Kenya works tirelessly to end hunger in her community and gets the whole store team involved. For example, she helps Baker’s store managers organize in-store fundraising events like ‘Strike Out Hunger’, benefiting the Food Bank for the Heartland, based in Omaha. She also partners with her store teams to pull safe wholesome food nearing expiration for donation to the local food bank as part of the Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Food Rescue.

Outside her store, Kenya helps organize volunteers at her local food banks donates her time the local United Way working with their Food Strategic Work Group to address community hunger issues and organizes solutions.

Kenya’s colleagues describe her as someone who “lights up” every time she volunteers and does a great job inspiring other associates to get involved. Kenya describes her passion and work towards ending hunger as something that “takes the whole community for us to be successful.”
